LOUISBERG SQUARE
When I got lost in Boston
On a blue day and fair
In Louisberg Square,
Beneath my feet the funny cobblestones
On quaint narrow streets,
And dreams in the air.
With every door a hiding place
For sweetheart or child,
And knockers all gold,
I passed by lacy balconies
Completely beguiled,
Like lovers of old.
Above my cranium hung pink geraniums
In window boxes sweet.
It's not pedantic there,
It's just romantic there,
A city's slow steady heart beat.
When I got lost in Boston
On a blue day and fair
In Louisberg Square.
As I went down, and you came up
The hill with an air, I lost my heart there!
