JULY DREAM
When I see the south-bound swallows
Flash across the sky,
My thoughts flash right back to July.
Roses on the vine,
Your lips warm on mine.
Sandy beaches, stars in reach, and
Glasses filled with wine. - And
When I see the red and yellow leaves go sailing by,
My heart sails right back to July.
Summer kisses chilled by September
Are not what they seemed.
But last July is still, a lovely dream.
